CREATING A NEW FILE:
From the File Menu:
File>New> name
Type in:
"My First Picture"
Set Width
to 5 inches
Set
Height to 4 inches
Change Resolution:
from 72 to 300 (300 resolution
is ok for printing, if we were scanning for web pages or internet, we
would set that for 72 resolution)
Change
MODE: We
change this from RGB to CMYK for printing.
If we were doing this for web pages, slides, or the internet, we
would set this for RGB, which means red, green, and blue
CMYK is cyan, magenta, yellow, and black, which is the names of the inks
that you print with.
For Contents,
we select transparent,
then click ok.
This creates a new document that you can work in with Photoshop
