Photoshop notes:
1. Palettes
: there are a number of different pallets, or popup boxes with tools that
we use, on them. To open these palettes, we click on : Windows,
(at the top menu bar) and scroll
to the palette that we want and select it by clicking on it. If it is
already open, it will have "hide" instead of "show" whatever the item
is. When we click on it, the palette opens for us to use. One palette
is:
Show tools, or hide tools We want to open tools palette, so select the
tools palette by clicking on it. Another palette is: Show layers, or hide
layers We want to open the layers palette, so select the layers palette
by clicking on it.
2. Tools - we're going to start
with a few at a time
3. Unlike some other programs, we can use
the keyboard to pull up our tools - OR - we can click
on the tool on the toolbar to select it.
· a. MOVE tool KEYBOARD: the
letter V selects the move tool
so that you can move the image on the page
· b. HAND tool
KEYBOARD: H
selects the hand tool so that you can move the page around to see different
parts of the page
· c. Magnifying
glass Z pulls
up the magnifying glass which lets you zoom in and out on the page, Click
on the page to zoom in or hold down the Alt key while clicking with the
magnifying glass to zoom out Another way to zoom in and out: think of
plus and minus signs. The plus means add to, or make bigger, and the minus
means take away from, or make smaller. The control key is used with these
keys. Hold down the Control key, then tap the + sign to zoom in. Hold
down the control key and tap the - sign to zoom out. ·
Text Tool KEYBOARD: T
pulls up the Text tool that
lets you type text
